Walk 1 - Dent via the riverside Distance: approx 5 miles return

An easy walk into Dent via Deepdale Beck and the River Dee. Return the same way or via the road.

Walk 2 - Dent via The Occy and Flinter Gill (8 miles)

A nice walk up Deepdale, and along the old Occupation Trail "The Occy", dropping down into Dent via beautiful Flinter Gill.

Walk 3 - Whernside and back via Kingsdale Head (6 miles return)

A moderate circuit of Whernside, accessing the summit from the path behind Hingabank, via the Tarns, and returning via the Kingsdale Head and Deepdale.

Walk 4 - Whernside and back via Dales High Way (9 miles return)

A longer circuit of Whernside accessing the summit from the path behind Hingabank, via the Tarns, and returning via the Dales Way with great views of Ribblehead viaduct.

Walk 5 - Two Viaducts (5 miles return)

Parking at Dent Head viaduct, a pleasant walk under two spectacular viaducts, up Arten Gill alonf the Pennine Bridleway, and back via the Dales Way

Walk 6 - Blea Moor Tunnel (9 miles return)

A longer walk along the North side of Whernside on the Dales High Way, following the line of Bleamoor Tunnel, and returning along Dentdale via the Dales Way. Stop for refreshment at the Sportsmans Inn at Cow Dub.

Walk 7 - Four Ways up Whernside

Four separate ways up Whernside. Two from Hingabank, two from Ribblehead (requires a drive or train from Dent Station). Why not walk up Whernside from Hingabank, descend on the other side, and catch a train from Ribblehead back to Dent (requires a 5 mile walk or drive from Dent station).
